Canada, why are we putting up with this?

Just want to say that I'm offended that our government, which is so afraid of insulting or offending people of other cultures and faiths, finds it ok to hold advance election polls during the most Holy days of the Christian faith.
If we're asking God to keep our land glorious and free perhaps it would help to show Him some respect!
To me this is indicative of how much our government really cares about it's citizens. Another slice of that cake that Kim Campbell wanted us to eat."

dr. pastor terry jones

Lack of captitalization in title is deliberate. He doesn't deserve that respect.

I am a Christian! I read the same Bible as this hateful man! Nowhere in our Bible does it condone his actions. Jesus taught us to love one another. Muslims have lived in our countries for years along side us at work and at play. They are a welcome addition to the very fabric of our nations.

I am also a Canadian. That means that there are folks from my country as well as many others over in the middle east who are now in even more danger since the atrocious burning of the Koran. What gives jones the right to put other lives in danger? Here in Canada our freedom of speech does not include hate mongering! I would have this creature spend the rest of his life in jail for endangering soldiers in wartime. As far as I'm concerned his acts are treasonous.

Now is the time for all churches to make a noise so loud that the Muslim faith can't help but believe that this evil man does not speak for us!

Oni's Pet Peeves

One of my lines for many years has been that if people would only just do their job the world would be a whole lot better off. No heroics, overtime, special effort....Just Do Your Job.

When I'm king of the world, I'll change that. I say that a lot. Of course I say king because who would listen to a woman?

Floundering about in my 62nd year and suffering from old-timers disease, I find that my tolerance level is getting lower and lower. So I'll admit it... I'm a grouch. I'm probably Maxine's grumpy twin. Don't confuse me with facts, my mind is made up. I don't debate because I can't remember anything. Mid argument I'm likely to change sides and not realize I've done it.

Politicians make me mad. Here in Canada we're about to have another election because that last one didn't go the way the way the opposition wanted. So instead of working to pull together and solve the country's problems they just dump the government and start again. Sounds good until you realize that next they will tell us taxpayers that they need money to pay for this election (2nd in less than a year) so they need to raise taxes. I'm pretty sure that I learned in Kindergarten how to get along with my playmates. Don't remember the teacher allowing us to kick her out and get a new one.

No! I'm not giving you any more money! As a matter of fact I'm off to the lake with a box of Salada tea which I'm going to toss into the water and wait for Paul Revere to show up. (This is where you don't bother me with facts like I'm a Canadian eh.)

Today I'm mad at
  • people who don't support their Prime Minister/President during time of war.
  • boys wearing pants so low that I have to see their pubic hair and butt divider and parents who don't care.
  • young girls dressing as sexual objects and parents who allow this.
  • improper grammar. You didn't axe your mother something you asked her!! You think it doesn't matter? Why do you keep getting passed over for promotions? Demand the best of yourself.
  • Government spokespersons who say ah, or er, or um every few seconds. I think I learned not to do that about grade 4.
  • Towns that beg us to "shop at home" but continue to say "you wouldn't believe how many people ask for that." Shouldn't that be your clue to carry the requested item? I'm still mad that I had to drive 30 miles to buy rhinestone decorated panty hose during the disco days because no one in town carried them.
There's more but I can't think of them at the moment!
